The Pedestrian Pound (third edition)
A new edition of this well-regarded resource, updating and expanding the evidence that creating streets to support walking and wheeling can provide benefits for local economies, health, community and the environment.
Transport for Quality of Life was commissioned by Living Streets to refresh its well-respected report The Pedestrian Pound – expanding it to provide policy-makers and practitioners with a more current and wider range of evidence on why investing in pedestrian-friendly town centres is worthwhile.
As part of the research process workshops were held with Scottish and Welsh stakeholders; and case studies were sought from across the UK. Companion resources were developed to help practitioners with the practicalities of project design and evaluation.
