Active Travel Fund evaluation: baseline report

A paper presenting the analytical approach, and baseline analysis, for the evaluation of the Department for Transport’s Active Travel Fund.

This evaluation encompasses Tranche 2 of the Active Travel Fund, as well as elements of Tranche 1 (the Emergency Active Travel Fund). It looks at the impact of cycle tracks and area wide traffic reduction schemes (Low Traffic Neighbourhoods), with a lighter touch look at School Streets. It uses mixed methods, with quantitative analysis of secondary data and new data collected by authorities. A final report will be published in due course.
